Dear Dilara — Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Dear Dilara ('Dear Dilara', 'we', 'us'). They cover your use of deardilara.co.uk, your account dashboard and our WhatsApp service (together, the 'Service'). By creating an account or sending us a message, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, so please read that too.
2. What Dear Dilara does
You link your WhatsApp number to your account, then send text, voice notes, photos and videos to our WhatsApp number. We transcribe voice notes, write a short subject line, and email the result, with your media attached, to the destination email address you give us.
A few things to understand before you rely on it:
- We deliver, we do not store. Dear Dilara is a delivery service, not a storage or backup service. Once an email is delivered, it lives in the inbox you chose. We do not keep copies of your photos, videos or voice recordings after delivery, apart from failed messages that we hold for up to 7 days so we can resend them. Please keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
- Processing takes a little time. Messages can take a couple of minutes to process. We confirm delivery with a reaction on your message in WhatsApp. If something fails, we retry automatically and our team may step in to resend it.
- Attachment limits. Emails are limited to about 20MB of attachments. We compress large photos and videos where we can, but we may be unable to deliver files that are still too large.
- AI can make mistakes. Transcripts and subject lines are generated by AI and may contain errors. Your original voice recording is attached to the email.
- We are independent of WhatsApp. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta or WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a trademark of its owner, and your use of WhatsApp is subject to its own terms and privacy policy.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or over and able to enter into a contract.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the WhatsApp number you link to it.
- Give us accurate information. The destination email address must be yours, or one you have permission to use. Do not use the Service to send content to someone who has not agreed to receive it.
- Each WhatsApp number can be linked to one account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has gained access to your account.
4. Free messages, plans and payment
- Free messages. New accounts get a limited number of free messages to try the Service. Once they are used, you need a paid plan to keep sending.
- Plans. Monthly: £6.99 per month. Yearly: £49.99 per year. Each plan is for one account and includes up to 100 messages per month. Prices are shown at checkout and include VAT where it applies - These prices are subject to change.
- Your allowance. The allowance resets each billing month and unused messages do not carry over. What counts as a message is explained on our pricing page and FAQ.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You authorise us to charge the payment method you provide.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it. If it stays unpaid, we may pause sending until it is resolved.
- Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price. The change applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
5. Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel any time from your dashboard using Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you can keep sending until then. After that, new messages will not be processed. Emails already delivered stay in your inbox.
- 14-day right to cancel. If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing. The Service starts as soon as you subscribe, so by subscribing you ask us to begin straight away. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund your payment less an amount proportionate to the Service you have used up to that point.
- Other refunds. Beyond that, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires it or where we have failed to provide the Service.
- Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
6. Your content
- You own it. You keep ownership of everything you send us ('Your Content').
- What you allow us to do. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to receive, process, transcribe, format, temporarily store and email Your Content, including through the providers named in our Privacy Policy, for the sole purpose of providing the Service. We do not use Your Content for advertising or to train AI models, and we do not sell it.
- Your promises. You confirm that you have the right to send Your Content and that it is lawful. If it features other people, especially other children, you are responsible for making sure they or their parents are happy for it to be shared.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- send unlawful, abusive, harassing or hateful content
- send any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. We may report this to the authorities.
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights
- send malware, or try to disrupt, probe or overload the Service, or get around message limits
- use the Service for bulk messaging, marketing or other commercial purposes. It is for personal and family use only.
- use automated tools to send messages to us
We may remove content, suspend your account or stop processing messages if you break these rules.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. It depends on third parties such as WhatsApp, email providers, hosting providers and AI services, and outages outside our control can delay or prevent delivery.
Email delivery is not guaranteed. Your email provider may filter our emails to spam or reject them, so please check your spam folder and add our sending address to your contacts.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we withdraw the paid Service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any prepaid period you have not used.
9. Suspension and ending your account
We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people. We will give you notice where it is reasonable to do so. If we end your account for any reason other than your breach, we will refund the prepaid period you have not used.
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. This removes your account details and message records as described in our Privacy Policy. Please cancel any subscription before you delete your account.
10. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected. These include your rights to digital content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and to services provided with reasonable care and skill.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen
- we are not responsible for lost content or memories caused by third-party failures, your email provider, spam filtering, or not keeping your own backups
- we are not responsible for business losses, because the Service is for personal use
- our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies.
12. General
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the details shown at checkout, are the whole agreement between us.
- If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we delay enforcing a right, we have not given it up.
- Only you and we have rights under this agreement. Nobody else can enforce it under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- You cannot transfer your rights to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor, and will tell you if we do, without reducing your rights.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
13. Contact and complaints
